Gold Medal Services

Established in 1996 in Darwin, Gold Medal Services is owned and operated by Darwin locals John and Jackie Maclean. The business has a strong focus on servicing clients through quality workmanship, first-rate service and long term customer relationships.

Gold Medal Services has developed strong systems to provide plumbing maintenance programs to sites such as Defence Bases, aged care facilities, schools, higher education institutions and high risk commerical sites.

The company is recognised as a leader in plumbing maintenance and has won Northern Territory and national awards for outstanding training through the vocational, education and training system, most recently in 2011. The company is a strong advocate for the Australian Apprenticeship system and provide training opportunities for local youth through school based programs and plumbing apprenticeships.

Gold Medal Services also undertakes specialist projects. Some of the projects include:

• Shoal Bay Defence Base - replacement of 2km water line at a high security base from a new bore to the main buildings on the base.
• Nauiyu Nambiyu (Daly River) - installation of waste water treatment plant for Wayside Inn in an environmentally sensitive area requiringa high standard of treated water.
• Group Training NT Darwin Office - installation of water saving taps and toilets to reduce water consumption by 50%

The company has a modern workshop, office and storage facility strategically located in the Berrimah industrial area. It is central to Darwin city, the inner and northern suburbs, Winnellie and Palmerston. Gold Medal Services employs fifteen staff including four apprentice plumbers.

John and Jackie Maclean have a strong belief in giving back to their community. Both hold positions on local Boards.....John is the Chairman of the NT Plumbers and Drainers Licensing Board and Jackie is a Director of Group Training NT and the Major Industry Training Advisory Council.
